Writing a Powerful LinkedIn Summary

A LinkedIn membership, free or premium, is a must have for today's job seeker because head hunters are flocking to LinkedIn to recruit candidates for open positions. A significant part of the LinkedIn profile is the summary section. To get the most out of your summary don't reiterate information that is on your resume, but look for a different angle to flesh out the same background in two paragraphs. This part will take time if you aren't a wordsmith so don't be surprised or get discouraged if it takes you a couple of days to come up with compelling verbiage.

Once you have written the introductory paragraphs, choose three successes from the last ten to fifteen years of your career to showcase. Finally to round out the summary, include a closing paragraph. Let's take a look at a sample summary Linkedin you can use as a model.

The Importance Of A Public Relations Evaluation

By Tara Daniels

No business anywhere in the world can survive without people. Every capitalistic enterprise needs people to buy its products or services, whether these are tangible or intangible. For this reason it is of utmost importance to invest in good public relations and hold a public relations evaluation regularly.

The nature of this field of work is that it encompasses everything that has to do with a company and its relationship with people, meaning members of the outside public as well as in house employees. It involves how the company is perceived through the public eye. If this is favourable, then the business is likely to succeed.

Many business owners often underestimate the importance of good consumer relations. As a result, they do not invest in doing any public relations evaluation. They just go on from day to day not knowing how they are perceived by consumers or how this may affect productivity.

Many companies do not actually hire a public relations officer. The role of this person is crucial in establishing and maintaining healthy communication with the media. If he or she is not a permanent employee, they should be outsourced on a freelance basis. Their job will include social networking via the Internet, posting regular blogs, press releases, sending out emails or newsletters to clients and even staff members.

A healthy consumer relationship will result in loyalty towards your brand. Studies have shown that shoppers tend to buy products they are familiar with and gravitate towards service providers they have a close relationship with. The word of mouth is also very effective. A successful business is one that maintains contact with consumers and uses effective marketing and communication strategies.

Correspondence with the outside world occurs regularly, hence a public relations evaluation should take place approximately every three months. This can be done by going through emails, calls or letters from clients. Online forums and Facebook postings should also be evaluated collectively. A general idea of what the public feel and say about your brand should be established and assessed.

The second part of the procedure should be a close evaluation of the relationship a business has with its own employees. If this is good, productivity in the work place will also be good. If there are problems, they must be taken seriously and addressed immediately. Some ways of resolving staff issues are by holding regular meetings, one on one interviews or group getaways.

It does not matter what the size of a business is. Big or small, effective communication is crucial and requires close attention on a constant basis. A public relations evaluation should be held regularly in each fiscal year. Unhappy consumers can lead to bad publicity which can seriously ruin the reputation of a company and thus lead to the loss of millions. This kind of evaluating can highlight strong points and weak points and show owners and managers what needs improvement and what needs damage control. In the end, the results will be priceless.
